week #5 in lunches

Monday
Sloppy Joe (with eye stickers)
with Snap Pea Crisps, watermelon and strawberry wafers.

Wednesday:
Hotdog Octupus(es? octupi?) over spirals mac/cheese
grape kabobs and alphabet Cheez-Its
Miss C said "Ew!" at the octupus(es?) at first, then she found out they were made of hotdogs, then she thought it was the best thing ever!

 Thursday
"Fish" sandwich (with turkey and cheese) over "seaweed" (julienne cucumber)
"fish food" (raisins w/fruit snacks), watermelon "star fish", 
cheese bubbles (mozz cheese), and Rainbow Goldfish crackers 
Miss C absolutely loved this lunch. She asked for it the next

My lunch was leftover chicken fried rice. 
Fried rice is a great way to use up day-old rice, leftover grilled chicken, and throw in mixed veggies for a quick 1-dish meal!

Friday: 
"dog bone" sandwiches, Scooby bone graham crackers,
Scooby fruit snacks, grapes
Miss C asked to have the "fish" lunch again the next day, so I used the same sandwich ingredients and shaped it differently. She informed me later that she preferred the fish shape because it tasted better--as if the shape has anything to do with taste! Funny kid!

    My lunch jealousy continues. And everyone knows fish sandwiches DO taste better than bones. :-)

2nd Grade!

Miss C starts 2nd grade today... #stopgrowing When did she become so big? *sniff* Have a great day at school baby girl! I am praying for protection and safety  and fun and learning and  make new friends. The neighbor kid started kindergarten (blue shirt) today... Seems like yesterday Miss C was that teeny!
