Monday: Midwinter break (President's Day) No School My lunch: chicken and broccoli from our usual Chinese restaurant (peer pressure from my coworker-lol!) Tuesday:  No School Day My lunch: an exciting can of Campbell soup and fruit  Wednesday:  C's lunch:  hardboiled egg, wheat thins,  cauliflower & ranch, and watermelon chunks My lunch: Shepherd's Pie, cauliflower, and watermelon  (my hubby made the shepherds pie with a thick layer of cheese on top, I ended up peeling it off!) Thursday: C's lunch: rice w/peas, chicken, watermelon It seems like there's not a lot of food... the rice is packed into teddy bear rice molds, there is about almost a cup of rice for both molds!  my lunch: same lunch but I added a little bit of chocolate, packed in an Easy Lunchbox! :) I had been craving sweets at work, so I packed just half a bar of chocolate to control the portions, otherwise, I'd eat the whole bar! Frida...

from Cali with love!

My cousin and aunt lives in San Francisco. There's a store called Daiso there. Almost all my virtual bento friends talk about this store and how awesome it is to find reasonably priced lunch/bento supplies. Check out the awesome bento loot: Thank you, Alexis and Tita Alma! :) ♥

So hop on over to her blog, check her out, hop on the next featured Valentine's lunch, and eventually, you'll come back to me! :) edited: OH!!! and I forgot to add... I got a new lunch box from Easylunchboxes.com .  I love them! More about those in a later post!

week of bentos Jan 30 - Feb 3

Monday : C's lunch: DIY chicken wrap (chicken, lettuce, cheese) jello and apple My lunch (planned): Salad w/chicken (frozen, will thaw at work micro)  yogurt with granola My lunch (actual): Chinese--shrimp and broccoli extra spicy.  Tuesday:   C's day off. Wednesday: C's lunch: Choco-Sunbutter and grape jelly sandwich "sushi" rice cakes, oranges, mozzarella stick My lunch: frozen chicken, carrots (and ranch), oranges Thursday: Groundhogs day lunch Friday: Giants/Super Bowl Football lunch My lunch: can of soup

Go Giants!

The Super Bowl game is this weekend.   I don't follow football much. I'm more of a baseball fan.  (Is it Cubs season yet? Because maybe this is the year!) My hubby is a Bears fan... but... this weekend, we are rooting for the NY Giants. See, my husband's cousin's husband (cousin-in-law?) plays center for the Giants.  GO GIANTS! GO DAVID! C's lunch: Strawberry jelly sandwiches w/chocolate Sunbutter on the football pretzels, carrots w/ranch, and #64 in cheese.  (yep, I totally shamelessly name-dropped there.)

Happy Groundhog Day

In honor of Groundhog Day...  C's lunch: G-hog is a sloppy joe sandwich, crackers, carrots/ranch, and strawberry applesauce. (G-hog is a little beaver-ish. I had no idea how to turn a bun into a groundhog.  It's just something I whipped up in less than 15 minutes.) my lunch: similar sans applesauce with Babybel cheese.
